We have decided to focus on and collect examples of old domestic embroidery - mostly wall hangings - that were once used as house decorations. To that end, workshops for children from the local kindergarten and elementary school will be organized to transfer the knowledge of basic stitches on the future generations. The participants will be encouraged to produce their own simple motifs. At the same time, a local folklore group (Folklorna skupina Kal nad Kanalom) will provide a course in basic folklore dances. The activities will conclude with an exhibition of the old and new embroidered motifs. The event will be accompanied by the folklore dances and the children's contributions resulting from the workshops (we expect to acquire some artistic works as well as literary pieces).
