On the 29th and 30th September in Ljubljana a hackathon, entitled “Cultural Adventure at your Fingertips”, shall take place. The participants shall be given the task to prepare an outline scheme of an IT solution in a limited time. This solution shall enable a promotion and experience of the Slovenian cultural heritage in tourism through the visualization of Open Data. This hackathon is as a single event part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage. The “Cultural Adventure at your Fingertips” Hackathon is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Public Administration and the Slovenian Tourism Board. Its sponsors are Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, GDi Comtrade, Xlab, ABC Accelerator and the Slovenian Museum Society. The challenges of the event are: Challenge 1: Connecting different kinds of heritages (including the digital) and including the less known ones in the out of the high season period. Challenge 2: Connecting of heritage and gastronomy: Slovenia – European Gastronomic Region or Taste sLOVEnia. Challenge 3: More tight connection of heritage on international lists (Unesco and European heritage label) with local offers.
