This year a new Visitor Centre of Idrija UNESCO Global Geopark was opened in Idrija, which offers a new interesting exhibition for a wide audience. The permanent exhibition focuses on tectonics and geological heritage, but also presents other natural and cultural characteristics of Idrija area. The exhibition is opened throughout the year. During European Heritage Days, on 2nd October, we organize an event with free guided tours for schools, so pupils and teachers can enjoy natural heritage with a local guide interpretation. Visitors will get to know how Idrija surface and rocks were formed, more about Idrija fault, karst phenomena and how natural conditions affected the variety of flora and fauna and people's life.
