Event description
When we learnt about the way the people used to live in the past, how they did the washing, ironing, laid out the laundry, we decided to base our research on the craft made by the laundresses in Lonjer near Trieste. Some of these women continued to do the laundry for the richer families until the end of the 70s. Their work was pretty hard and they often had problems because they couldn’t speak the languange or got lost in a city they didn’t know. In the course of our research we will glean information from published materials and oral testimonies.
