Event description
Our school is situated in Sv. Ivan, in the suburbs of Trieste. This place, which was once a village, gave the origins to the poetess Marija Mijot. In her poetry, mostly written in the dialect of Sv. Ivan, she depicted the daily life, work, habits and festivities of the people who lived here. To commemorate the centenary of her birth, the local association Škamperle published in 2012 the book Otroške pesmi in dramski prizori – Songs and plays for children. Our pupils will choose some scenes from the book and perform them.
