The Slovenian Theatre Institute and its partners from Poland and Slovakia are coordinating the international project Classics in the Graphic Novel: A pilot model of new high school culture education through graphic novels. Together with our partners, we have selected three European drama classics (Sophocles' Antigone, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and King Ubu by Alfred Jarry), which three visual artists, in collaboration with students, realize in three comics. At the same time accompanying pedagogical programs are being developed in cooperation with partner schools. We will introduce you to how the project contributes to the preservation and revival of drama and how we get to know drama in a creative way with the help of graphic novels. The project is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and the Ministry of Culture.
