The Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts was founded in 1955 and celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. The Biennale has consistently positioned Ljubljana and Slovenian art within a global context and has contributed to shaping international discourse in the field of printmaking and contemporary art. From 6 June to 12 October, the 36th edition will be on view under the title The Oracle: On Fantasy and Freedom. As part of the closing weekend, a one-day international conference will be held, at which lectures will be presented with insights into the long history of this exhibition event. The conference will be accompanied by the publication of an extensive reader – the main publication marking the Biennale's jubilee year.
