Event description
Dr. Karl Hinterlechner (1874-1932), was a geologist and mineralogist, one of the founders of the University of Ljubljana, its rector and for many years Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Prof. Hinterlechner is considered to be the founder of the Ljubljana Geological School, and is also credited with establishing the only study of mining and metallurgy, and thus geology, in the then Yugoslavia and the entire Balkan Peninsula.
