As part of this year’s European Heritage Days, themed “Walls of Our Past, Foundations of Our Future,” we invite you to a special event at Gutenbuchel Castle, where we also mark the 10th anniversary of the castle’s first-ever public opening—an event that originally took place within the framework of the European Heritage Days. This symbolic milestone will be celebrated with a focus on architectural heritage, craftsmanship, and the creativity of young people. The central theme of the event is stonemasonry as living heritage—a tribute to the masters of traditional craftsmanship who preserve the knowledge, forms, and materials of the past through their work. Visitors will be able to take part in a stonemasonry workshop, observe how architectural heritage is documented, explore an exhibition of works by young stonemasons, admire flower-adorned stone pieces, and attend expert lectures on the documentation and significance of built heritage. Through its diverse program, the event will create a dialogue between past and future—between the solid foundations represented by historic buildings and the creative drive of young generations who are breathing new life into heritage in contemporary ways.
