You’ll explore the architectural transformation of Cukrarna building, that was once a long-abandoned industrial building, now considered one of Ljubljana’s significant architectural achievements. While the exterior retains the familiar silhouette known to generations of locals, the interior reveals a strikingly contemporary exhibition space defined by a bold spatial concept. Jernej Šipoš will present the key architectural solutions, the building’s integration into the urban fabric, and the challenges and opportunities that came with revitalising a structure with such a complex and layered history.
