On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 8 am, you are kindly invited to join us on a guided hike along a shorter section of the Cistercian Trail (14 km). You will learn how the Cistercians of Stič transformed the landscape over the centuries at several locations. The trail is marked with information boards, and more information about the trail is available on the website https://cisterscapes.eu/en/hiking and in the Outdooractive application. The Stič part of the Slovenian section of the international Cistercian Trail was designed by the Museum of Christianity in Slovenia as part of the Cisterscapes project, this year's recipient of the prestigious European Heritage Label. The Cistercian Trail is a 6,400 km long link between European nations. It combines knowledge and tradition, and above all, invites you to explore the Cistercian cultural landscape in nature. It leads hikers to ancient Cistercian monasteries, past mills, forests and vineyards, and highlights the importance of self-sufficiency, coexistence and international networking.
